MUSIC FOR ORGAN SOLO
Composers have been writing music for organ for more than 600 years. As such it seems odd that any more music for the ‘King of Instruments’ should be at all necessary. The fact remains, however, that this, one of the oldest of instruments, continues to inspire its own music. The works included on this page continue in the long tradition of music written for divine liturgy as well as a response to the stylistic idiosyncrasies of 21st century American Music. Minimalism, chromaticism, serialism, tonal harmony, and classic counterpoint are all present in a variety of ways. Each of the works noted below are available in performing editions directly from the composer. A full score and parts can be posted or e-mailed for a reasonable fee.
